The Story So Far

Some songs are written to chase trends. Others are written to stand the test of time.

Ian McIvor has always believed the best country songs tell the truth.

Born to parents from Liverpool, England and rural Canada, Ian grew up surrounded by an eclectic mix of music. His older brother introduced him to artists like The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Lou Reed and Black Sabbath, while his father filled the house with the timeless sounds of Marty Robbins, Hank Williams and classic country.

Those influences shaped a songwriter who values honest lyrics as much as unforgettable melodies.

Now based in Central Florida, Ian writes and records modern country music inspired by small towns, family, faith, resilience and the moments that define everyday life.

Whether reflecting on the enduring strength of Canada in Canadian Shield, reminding listeners what truly matters in Better Life, or capturing the spirit of close-knit communities in Everybody Knows, Ian’s music is built on authenticity rather than trends.
